Ana Gabriela Torres was born on December 14, 1987, in Matamoros in the Northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas, within shouting distance of Brownsville, Texas.
At the Mexican Music Conservatory, San Juan Siglo XIX, she indulged her youthful passion for music, studying violin, cello and other instruments, performing with the orchestra and singing with the choir, Ninos Cantores de Tamaulipas. She was athletic, too, enjoying soccer and Tae Kwon Do.
Then, at the age of 18, Ana moved to Dallas, Texas, embarking on a new life and a whole new set of challenges.
Though music was important to her, Ana knew that it wasn’t her true passion. She traveled extensively and had the opportunity to meet many excellent musicians, yet there was always something missing. From an early age, what excited her most and filled her dreams was the art of movie making. She wanted a life making movies, showing the world her unique perspective through the lens of a camera.http://www.penumbramovies.com/
