Corrie Chen is an award-winning filmmaker and a sought-after director of Australian television. Corrie directed the second series of Mustangs FC, for which she received an ADG Award nomination for Best Direction in a Children’s TV Drama. She directed and executive produced the online series Homecoming Queens (SBS On- Demand), which has been nominated for multiple awards including an AACTA, an ADG award, and won Best Australian Comedy and Best Directing at Melbourne WebFest 2018. Corrie previously directed Sisters and the first season of Mustangs FC. She is in development on several feature and TV projects, and in 2019 directed episodes Five Bedrooms and Seachange. In 2018, she was presented with the Film Victoria’s Greg Tepper award in recognition for outstanding achievement in Directing. She is co-writing her first feature film with Penelope Chai on Empty Empire, set in the famed “ghost cities” of China, with the support of Screen Australia and Film Victoria. She is an active member of the Screen Australia’s Gender Matters Taskforce, continuing her advocacy for equality and inclusion in the screen industry. A graduate of the VCA school of Film & TV, she is an two-time AACTA nominee, Australian Academy award-winning Peter Allen, and on the groundbreaking final season of HBO’s The Leftovers.
