Jessica Janos

This year Janos has directed MISSED CONNECTIONS, a feature film starring Elisabeth Rohm, PRETTYFACE, a film she wrote and directed, produced by Fred Roos, starring Karsen Liotta, Annalise Basso, and Patrick Schwarzenegger about two teenage girls who, while searching for a lost horse, encounter the Manson Family living at Spahn Ranch, and several music videos including the just released GLAMOROUS MISERY for Jesika von Rabbit. Inspired by her youth in Los Angeles, she also wrote a feature screenplay with Clarissa Jacobson entitled, ELECTRA COMPLEX about the 1990's Hollywood art, punk and stripper scene. Before directing films, Janos began as a painter, being accepted into CalArts School of Fine Arts at the age of 16. It was during her time at CalArts that she decided to pursue film. Janos is also a graduate of the American Film Institute MFA Directing Program. At AFI, Janos directed and co-wrote several films including her thesis film, Princess, the story of an orphaned Zulu girl living in Johannesburg, South Africa and CARTE BLANCHE, the story of a burned out artist and the squatter chick who becomes his muse for a night. Previous work includes the MARK TWAIN EPK for Val Kilmer, and FROM THE LOTUS for Prince.
