Shaina Feinberg

Shaina Feinberg is a filmmaker from the small island of Manhattan. Her award-winning feature The Babymooners blurred the lines between documentary and fiction and examined gender stereotypes. Shaina is a founding member of Bankrukt Productions. Their short film, Shiva, which combines comedy with grief, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017. Shaina has directed content for RIOT, Shatterbox, IFC’s Comedy Crib and in 2016, Refinery29 commissioned Shaina to create a 6-part comedy series called Expecting that exceeded 1.5 million views in its first week. You might have heard her high-pitched voice on This American Life, WFMU’s The Goddamn Dave Hill Show, RISK, the CBC’s Wiretap or NPR’s All Things Considered, where she played Santa’s elfin secretary two years in a row. Most recently, she was the senior producer of the hit immigration podcast Maeve in America. She is currently developing a series with comedian Maeve Higgins on immigration and another series with Lucy Wainwright Roche that combines music with improvised comedy and social commentary.
