Dara Kell is a South African documentary filmmaker and impact producer. She directed the award-‐winning documentary “Dear Mandela”, the story of three young South African shack dwellers who lead a social movement to stop mass evictions. “Dear Mandela” is the centerpiece of a global community engagement project that educates slum residents about their housing rights and inspires young people to become leaders.

Dara's documentary series about children’s perspectives of the 2014 Soccer World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games was filmed in Brazil’s army-‐occupied favelas and is part of a campaign to make mega sporting events more safe and fair for children.

Most recently, she directed the Ford Foundation’s #InequalityIs video campaign, working with thought leaders and celebrities Elton John, Usher and Gloria Steinem, to spark a new conversation about inequality.
