Jen Schwerin is an award-winning filmmaker working in the USA and China. Her most recent short film, Unspoken Code (2018), won Best Short Film at the Toronto Female Eye Film Festival, Best Drama at the Beijing Indie Short Film Festival, and Best Narrative at the California International Shorts Festival. Schwerin is now writing the pilot for a drama series inspired by her short and developing the script to direct her first feature. See the trailer - https://vimeo.com/243139535

Earlier in her career in the USA, Schwerin made the award-winning feature documentary, TALKING TRASH (1994), which aired nationally on PBS. HBO came calling and she made her next film, WHIPPED UP(1995), as part of their Real Sex series. Her short narrative film, THE VESSEL(1993), aired on PBS and was nominated for an Emmy. In China since 1995, Schwerin created the first Chinese short films for MTV and founded her production company TaDaa! Media and Films to create branded entertainment for clients and develop her own films. She has directed award-winning shorts and written and developed several Mandarin and English language feature film projects. In 2018 she was staffed in the writers' room of Chinese sitcom writing four seasons of a web series now in post-production. She grew up in New York City, was based in Beijing for the past 24 years, and has recently moved her base to the USA.
