Jill began her career running lines with Morgan Freeman at the Public Theatre. She’s produced, directed, edited and written numerous documentaries that have been broadcast and appeared in festivals worldwide including Atlanta, American Black, Martha's Vineyard, Miami, Montclair, Sarasota, Seattle, Tribeca, and Warsaw. She received a scholarship to Killer Films/Stony Brook Southampton's 20/20/20 program where she directed the narrative short AFTER TOMORROW under the helm of legendary producer Christine Vachon. Jill’s a produced playwright with work appearing on stages around the world including La MaMa, Dublin Fringe and Actors Studio. She was awarded a residency at Mabou Mines where her play THE LOST BOX OF UTOPIA was developed. She’s been an invited participant in CBS Writers’ Daytime Development Program. Jill directed, produced and wrote MR. CHIBBS (Village Voice Critics Pick) about NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson. View it on Amazon & Kanopy. It premiered at DOC NYC, was acquired by Abramorama and screened at festivals and theatrically at IFC Center and Alamo Draft House. Jill’s a candidate for her MFA at Hunter College. She has many projects in development including AFTER TOMORROW (screenplay,) AMERICAN BALLERS (docu-series about high school ballers) and DARK ELEGY(documentary about an artist whose son died on Pan Am Flight 103). Jill works as a freelance director, producer, editor and writer.
