Kris Lefcoe is an award-winning writer-director based in New York and Toronto.

Lefcoe’s Twilight Zone-esque short Can I Get A Witness? starring Scott Speedman, attracted critical acclaim at international festivals including Toronto, New York, London, and Chicago. Public Domain, Kris’ first feature film, a wry satire about a surveillance-based game show that awards cash to the most existentially troubled contestant, stars Nadia Litz, Don McKellar and Jason Jones. The film premiered at SXSW and was programmed at Art Basel Miami.

Lefcoe’s stopmotion animation short Tiny Riot Project, featuring a riot squad of corporate mascots from Saturday morning cartoon commercials in a violent standoff with adorable anarchists, has been installed at Galerie Tomas Schulte Berlin, Art Basel Miami and the Havana Bienniale. The film screened at Rotterdam International Film Festival and sold to The Sundance Channel.

Kris’ prolific career as a music video director has garnered numerous nominations and awards, including Best New Artist at the MVAs and Best Music Video at the Ottawa International Festival of Animation. Her see-it-to-believe-it clip for Peaches “Boys Wanna Be Her” features members of Hole and Le Tigre. Lefcoe is currently writing, directing and producing a comedy microseries called Giving Up, Executive Produced by David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer).
