Lynn True is a New York based documentary filmmaker and co-founder of True Walker Productions. Her work has been broadcast internationally on networks such as PBS, Sundance Channel and ARTE, as well as at film festivals and other venues around the world. Past projects include LUMO, a feature-length documentary filmed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which won a Student Academy Award and aired on PBS/P.O.V. in 2007. Lynn's next film, Summer Pasture, took her to the high grasslands of eastern Tibet where she documented a family of nomads whose pastoral way of life confronts rapid modernization. Called "enthralling" by The New York Times, Summer Pasture was nominated for a Film Independent Spirit Award, an IFP Gotham Independent Film Award, and won a Peabody Award. It was broadcast on PBS/Independent Lens in 2012. Lynn's last film, IN TRANSIT (made in collaboration with the late Albert Maysles), is a documentary portrait of America as seen through the stories of passengers aboard the country's busiest long-distance train route. IN TRANSIT premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival, winning the Special Jury Prize, and was later nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Direction from the Cinema Eye Honors. Lynn graduated from Brown University with a joint degree in Urban Studies and Architecture.
