Nisan Dağ graduated from Columbia University’s MFA Film Program in 2013, as a Fulbright scholar. Her shorts screened at festivals like Cinequest, Indie Memphis, Thessaloniki and Antalya Film Festival. Her feature debut ‘Across The Sea’ attended Meetings On The Bridge workshop and was selected for the Work In Progress section of Les Arcs Coproduction Village in 2013. The film won Best Director at Milan International Film Festival and won Audience Award and Jury Mention at Slamdance Film Festival. At Adana Golden Boll, the film won six awards including Best Director. The film also screened at festivals such as Warsaw, Raindance and Istanbul Film Festival and had national theatrical release in 2014. Nisan directed the Turkey episode of the MTV Documentary Series ‘Rebel Music’ and a short documentary for Goethe Institut called ‘From Syria to Sulukule’. Nisan co-founded the Istanbul branch of the collective Film Fatales. She’s currently developing her new feature ‘When I’m Done Dying.’
