Sandra Jaffe is a screenwriter, filmmaker and script consultant who grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and received her BA (English) and MS (Broadcast and Film) from Boston University. She has been a screenwriting instructor at Northeastern since September 2012. Ms. Jaffe’s screenwriting awards include a Writers Guild of America, East Foundation Fellowship, a Massachusetts Artists Finalist Fellowship and the Massachusetts Film Office Screenwriting Award. Her screenplays have been optioned for film and television and she has written screenplays, documentaries and television pilots for hire. Her documentary short “Jazz in the Magic City” appeared on The Discovery Channel, PBS, and is permanently housed in the Alabama Jazz Hall of Fame where it is seen by tens of thousands of tourists and visitors a year. Her most recent film project is a feature length documentary, OUR MOCKINGBIRD, about the influence of To Kill A Mockingbird. Ms. Jaffe and Our Mockingbird have been featured in the Washington Post, Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News and MSNBC. OUR MOCKINGBIRD was broadcast as part of America Reframed/PBS in 2015/16.
