Kate Bohan

Kate Bohan is an award-winning Chinese- American writer, director, and producer of American cinema and a member of the Writers Guild of America West. She proudly graduated from the Chinese Broadcasting University of Journalism where she received her BFA as a News Anchor. In 1998, she moved to Los Angeles with her son, and there she had Kayla, her daughter. She felt blessed when her daughter told her that she wanted to become an actress. Inspired by her daughter’s dream, she studied filmmaking nonstop and discovered it was no longer just her daughter’s dream, but her own new passion. She wrote and directed the short film Kayla’s World (2016), which won her a Best Screenplay Award and several Best Director Awards in different film festivals. In 2018, she wrote and directed a feature film called Kayla which received multi-awards and national recognition from a number of prestigious film festivals and competitions for her outstanding screenwriting and directing skills. In 2020, she wrote, directed, and produced her second feature film, Harper, which just completed a successful theatrical run in Los Angeles, thus qualifying it for the 94th Academy Awards. The film will be distributed by Indican Pictures for a Spring ‘22 release.
