Kiera Kyoto Lewis is an independent producer based in NYC and New England and a 2016 Made in NY by IFP Fellow. She is co-founder of the boutique production company Critical Findings, producing projects to transform the cultural landscape. Kyoto Lewis began her career in film working on films by esteemed filmmakers such as Todd Haynes, Joel and Ethan Coen, James Schamus, and Colin Trevorrow. She’s also worked alongside Bobbito Garcia on two of his feature documentaries, Stretch & Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives and Rock Rubber 45s. Kyoto Lewis also continues to do freelance work in film and TV, including for VICE Media. Shot on location in Oman and the United States, Dates for Coffee began in 2012 when Kyoto Lewis was a Visiting Research Fellow at Sultan Qaboos University. Dates for Coffee is her first documentary feature.
