Vietnamese-Australian filmmaker Tina Brown has worked in media and entertainment through various roles including film publicist, magazine editor/writer, TV producer, and now filmmaker. In 2009, she co-founded 2300 Films with her multi Emmy-award winning Director of Photography husband, Matt Peterson ACS. They have shot features and commercials in almost every U.S. state including Alaska and Hawaii, and international locations from the San Blas Islands to Portugal, for clients including Apple, Red Bull, Puma, Gatorade, and Levi’s; as well as some of the most watched sporting events from figure skating features for the Winter Olympics, to the Super Bowl, Tour de France and US Open Tennis. Tina co-produced the award-winning feature-length documentary DEAR MANDELA, the story of three young South African shack dwellers who lead a social movement to stop mass evictions. UNITED SKATES, her debut feature-length documentary she co-directed and produced, won Audience Award at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival, and Top 20 Audience Favorite at Hot Docs. UNITED SKATES has received support from Sundance Institute Documentary Fund, Film Independent, Chicken & Egg Pictures, Threshold, Women in Film, NYSCA, IFP, Fledgling Fund, and California Humanities. Before moving to America, Tina was an Editor for an Australian magazine, and also created PR and marketing film distribution campaigns for studios including DreamWorks, Disney, MGM, Miramax, Paramount, Pixar, Universal and Village Roadshow.
