Synopsis

Marred by postpartum depression and sidelined by a c-section after the birth of her daughter, Jo, a recovering alcoholic and horseback rider, gets back in the saddle again for a restorative trail ride as her first time out without the baby. But when she's finally alone with the privacy to drink again, her horse suddenly becomes injured by a rogue barbed wire. Jo will have to sacrifice her old self and embrace her new role in order to get herself and her horse back to safety. SIDE SADDLE is a film about rebirth, learning to start anew after giving birth, and the demons that trail behind.

Bio

Hyten Davidson is a writer, producer, director, and SAG actor based in NYC. Her short, “The West Virginian Starfish,” which she wrote and co-directed, won the Long Island Film Expo award for Best Short Film, in addition to a host of other screenwriting wins and nominations over the years. Featured Female Filmmaker nominee at the Shortcut 100 International Film Festival. Her psychological thriller feature "Something of a Monster", which she wrote with Christian Missonak, was recently released on all VOD platforms.
