In 2018, Bobby was just a Michigan film teacher in over his head, navigating a vodka-soaked, madcap trip to Ukraine to propose to the girl of his dreams. He didn't just find love; he found a second home in a culture that challenged and embraced him. But when the 2022 invasion turns his memories into a war zone, Bobby finds himself half a world away, powerless to protect the woman who captured his heart.
Armed only with a half-finished script and the memories of their culture-clash romance, Bobby races to finish the romantic comedy of their lives. In a desperate attempt to rewrite their future, he uses his art to bridge the gap between suburban Detroit and a war-torn Ukraine, hoping that a "happily ever after" on the page can become a reality for the woman he loves.
