Corinne van der Borch

Dutch artist and award-winning documentary filmmaker Corinne van der Borch is based in Brooklyn, where she graduated with an MFA from The School of Visual Arts. Mentored by experimental filmmaker Alan Berliner and the pioneer of Direct Cinema Albert Maysles, her work has screened in Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam, New York and Los Angeles. Her feature length documentary ‘Girl with Black Balloons’, about the oldest living resident of the Chelsea Hotel won the Grand Jury Metropolis prize at DOC NYC in 2011. She created a video-installation for The Dominican Republic for the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2014. Currently Corinne is working on a feature length documentary about three track & field junior olympian sisters Tai, Rainn and Brooke Sheppard, who are living with their mother in a homeless shelter in Brooklyn. Sam Pollard is the executive producer on the film.
