Get Involved

We are always looking for committed volunteers passionate about uplifting underrepresented voices and building an equitable film industry. As a volunteer, you join a community of like-minded filmmakers and cinephiles working together to make tangible change. We meet weekly on Zoom, and volunteers are asked to commit a total of five hours a week (including meetings). You are also welcome to attend as many Film Fatales events as you like, including educational webinars, panel discussions, and a monthly volunteer meet-up in Los Angeles. Events Team

Our Events team runs the magic behind our monthly panel discussions, social mixers and community circles in New York, Los Angeles, and Online. We are looking for team members who are consistent and reliable. We meet for two hours online each week in addition to attendance at the monthly events. This is a great way to connect with other filmmakers. Join us!

Media Team

Our media team is the face of Film Fatales! Volunteers help create a weekly newsletter, produce a monthly podcast, design graphics, curate daily posts on social media, and more. This team is a great fit for anyone with graphic design or social media experience, though all are welcome.

Outreach Team

Our outreach team researches filmmakers from underrepresented backgrounds to welcome into the Film Fatales community. We also host the Fatales Forward fellowship for transgender and nonbinary filmmakers of color.

Programming Team

Our programming team recommends filmmakers for funding, film festival, and distribution opportunities through our flagship Parity Pipeline initiative. This team acts as “sales agents” between Fatales participants and industry decision makers. We are looking for volunteers that can help maintain databases of Fatales projects, source new industry contacts, and reach out to existing contacts to recommend our projects and secure submission waivers and discounts.

Fundraising Team

Our fundraising team works to make Film Fatales a thriving and sustainable organization. We are always looking for committed volunteers to help us apply for grants, reach out to potential sponsors, organize our annual auction and brainstorm new fundraising ideas. Anyone with an interest is welcome, though people with previous grant writing or grassroots fundraising experience are especially encouraged to apply!
