Elena Gaby is an award winning director and producer, known for her expertise and talent in non-fiction storytelling. Elena first earned her stellar producing reputation working on documentary films and series for outlets such as CNN, YouTube Red, A&E, and Showtime. In 2019, she made her feature-length directorial debut at Tribeca Film Festival. The documentary, I AM HUMAN, (Co-directed by Taryn Southern), explores the future of brain computer interfaces, and has received praise from publications such as Wired, The Verge, People, CBS News, The Big Think, and Forbes. Elena’s unique identities as a tri-lingual, first generation Brazilian-American, native Nantucket Islander, and proud New Yorker, all come together to inform her craft. While studying at Vassar College, Elena embedded with four undocumented teenagers as they navigated the path to college. This work became her first short film, which won Best Student Documentary at Cannes. Elena is now based in Brooklyn, where she lives with her husband, Kenneth.
