Pro membership is for mid-career feature film and television directors with active projects in development, production, or post who are looking to participate more fully in our programming initiatives to advance their careers. In addition to the Creator-level benefits, Pro membership includes the ability to add up to three projects to our Parity Pipeline initiative, which provides a direct pipeline for film festival programmers, production companies, funders, and other film industry organizations to connect with directors from underrepresented communities in an effort towards more inclusive programming and hiring practices.

Members receive premiere invitations to all Film Fatales events. This includes in-person events such as panels and mixers at Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca and TIFF as well as a monthly webinar series of educational workshops, master classes, and industry panel discussions.
Members are invited to self-complete an individual profile page on the Film Fatales website. This searchable directory is used by industry allies and other members to hire directors and other crew.
Our monthly keeps filmmakers up-to-date on the latest events, grants, labs, incubators, and film festival deadlines. Pro members also receive the Parity Pipeline Newsletter full of exclusive submission discounts. Past filmmakers have saved literally thousands of dollars in submissions thanks to our discounts.
All members are invited to the private Film Fatales network to connect with other members and continue to build community. Who knows, you may find your next collaborator.
Pro members are eligible for direct Film Fatales recommendations for grants, labs, screenings, and more. Depending on the opportunity, we may even connect you directly with the key decision maker. Thanks to our recommendations, scores of members have been hired for directing jobs, received grants, and had their films screen worldwide.
When Pro members release a film, they receive complimentary promotion in our newsletter and on our social media platforms. With a social reach of 100K+ and a newsletter reach of 10K+, we help our members’ films get seen.
Pro members gain access to a variety of exclusive discounts, including for IMDbPro, production equipment, industry software and more.
Pro members can add one complimentary project to the Parity Pipeline, a searchable database of projects in all stages of development that industry professionals use to find projects to fund, screen, and distribute.
For accessible rates, we offer all members hands-on consultations to offer advice and put together strategic plans in any phase of production, including: creative feedback on screenplays or pitch materials; business consultations as you move into production; and strategic film festival and distribution advice.
How is this membership system different than before?
Previously we had one level of membership, which offered a profile on our website, access to Film Fatales events, the opportunity to request media promotions or be featured in the Streaming Library, and subscription to our monthly newsletter. To take part in the Parity Pipeline and access exclusive opportunities/discounts and be eligible for recommendations you had to pay per project.
We now have two membership levels so you can choose the best option, and you can always upgrade or downgrade at any time. See above for different member level benefits.
I’m already a Film Fatales member. Why do I need to sign up again?
This change is not just front-facing but is also a big change on the back-end. We need everyone to “sign up” to ensure you are migrated over to our new system correctly.
Will I need to sign up for this every year?
No. With our new Stripe system your annual membership dues will be automated. You can always upgrade, downgrade, or pause your membership at any time.
I just paid my Film Fatales member dues recently. Will I get double charged?
No. If you have recently paid dues, we are taking that into account and will make sure you do not get double charged. If you have any questions relating to this, please reach out to info@filmfatales.org. We appreciate your patience during this transitionary time.
Do I need to pay for a Pro membership AND also pay per project to have a project in the Parity Pipeline?
No. For Pro Members, your Membership dues and Pipeline dues will all be combined into one annual cost. No need to pay per project as you previously did! With Pro membership, you will automatically be able to have up to three projects to the Pipeline at no extra cost. If you take advantage of the opportunity to include three projects in the Pipeline, you will actually be saving money in comparison to our previous system.
Three projects feels like a lot. What else can I put into the Parity Pipeline?
A reminder that the Parity Pipeline accepts projects in all stages of development. That means whether you just have a treatment for a script and are interested in applying to writer’s labs, are in active development and looking for funders, or have a fully completed project seeking distribution, you are able to add your project to the Parity Pipeline and selectively share it with our industry partners. Please note that we work with production companies looking to hire and agents/managers looking to expand their rosters so having completed work samples in the Parity Pipeline is a great way to get seen.
What’s up with this new Portal?
With our new Member Portal, your career will be at your fingertips. You will be able to update your Member Directory profile, RSVP for member events, and watch past webinar recordings. You can also add projects to our Streaming Library, finding a new audience for your film.
For Pro members, the Member Portal will be your one-stop-shop to the Parity Pipeline. You will be able to add your projects directly and update them whenever you want. The Pipeline Portal will have all current and future opportunities as well as submission discounts listed in one easy spot, and you can request a recommendation from our team.
This Portal will give you total control over your profile and projects and eliminate the back-and-forth emails every time you have an update or need to request a recommendation. By streamlining the Parity Pipeline process you’ll be able to focus more on your work and we’ll be able to focus more on advocating to industry partners.
Can you remind me what the Parity Pipeline is?
The Parity Pipeline is our signature initiative at the heart of what we do. Our programming team serves as the connective tissue between filmmakers from marginalized backgrounds and key industry decision makers who are in a position to fund, program, or distribute their films and/or hire the filmmakers.
We’ve seen huge success with filmmakers acquiring funding for their films, finding festival premieres, expanding their distribution options, and getting hired on directing jobs. Plus when a project is in the Parity Pipeline, it automatically qualifies for dozens of waivers and submission discounts throughout the year.
Our industry partners include hundreds of production companies, funding organizations, agencies, management companies, film festival programmers, distributors and other industry allies. Some of our partners include A24 Films, Alamo Drafthouse, HBO Max, IFC, PBS, Stowe Story Labs, Sundance Institute, The Writers Lab, and many more
Not only do our industry allies have access to the searchable database, but we specifically and directly identify gaps in their programming and then recommend projects in the Pipeline for opportunities throughout the production process, continuing to advocate for them along the way.
