Chazitear Martin

Specializing in film and television production, writing, songwriting, and directing, Chazitear aims to tell the often-stifled stories of Black and Brown women by showcasing them in a diverse light. Being raised in a beauty salon gave her a fresh, new perspective on telling diverse and inclusive stories. Chazitear received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Entertainment at Full Sail University, with specialized training in writing for television. Some of her most recent credits include ALLBLK’s “Hush,” BET's "A Wesley's Christmas Wedding," and BET's "Wake.” Chazitear earned an NAACP Image Award nomination for OUTSTANDING WRITING TV Movie or Special for “A Wesley South African Christmas,” where she serves as co-writer, producer, and co-executive producer; ESSENCE Film Festival’s 2024 Best Narrative Jury Award-winning feature film, “A Kismet Holiday” as director, co-writer, and co-producer; and the critically acclaimed feature film, 2026's PAFF's Best Feature nominee, and an Official Selection at 2025’s MVAAFF “The Class Reunion" written by Barshea Lowery, ABFF’s 2024 Best Series winner alongside, Chazitear, who served as director and producer for their series “Unsolicited.” Currently in post for her third feature, “St. Kissed,” a romantic comedy starring Kofi Siriboe and Sydney Mitchell.
