CHOUWA LIANG
Chouwa Liang is a documentary filmmaker. She graduated from the Documentary program at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne. Since 2018, she has directed several short documentaries, including Intimate Strangers, I Love You Too, A World Away, and My AI Lover. Her work explores themes of intimacy in contemporary Chinese society. Her recent films have been featured on platforms such as The New York Times Op-Docs, Aeon (US), and PBS Rhode Island.
Her debut feature documentary, Replica, has received multiple awards and development support from international pitching forums. It won the Silver Alexander Award at the 28th Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival (TiDF), and was subsequently selected for the 57th Visions du Réel and the 33rd Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
