Leslie Alejandro

Writer, Director, Filmmaker, Photographer, Leslie Alejandro, began her career in the industry as a makeup artist for celebrity photo editorials and videos, which led her to becoming a creative/executive director for a popular on-line entertainment/fashion magazine. After gaining extensive experience on hundreds of photo sets, her passion for creative imagery led her to becoming a full time photographer having work featured in Vogue, Vanity Fair, Variety Magazine, GQ, Men’s Health, and more.


Through this experience and her ability to story-tell through composition, and stills, Alejandro had the confidence to pursue her film and television passions by becoming a filmmaker. She started writing and directing projects that reflect her connections as a mother, a woman, and a woman of color. Her award winning directing credits include the surrogacy documentary short She’s Having My Baby, the short film Smile, starring Kevin Alejandro and DB Woodside, and Adult Night, starring Kevin Alejandro and Lesley-Ann Brandt, and recently, PARACHUTES which Best Horror/Thriller at San Diego ComicCon International Film Festival. 


In 2021, Alejandro’s docuseries Where You From? was accepted into CNN + Film Independent’s Original Docuseries Intensive. 2025, Alejandro’s feature film ASPHALT FLOWERS was selected as a FINALIST for the wide-known Outstanding Screenplay Competition.
