Lisa Rideout
Lisa Rideout is an award-winning director, writer and producer whose childhood was shaped by three things: fearless women, grief and all the television she watched. Her work reflects these influences, centering boundary-pushing women, pop culture and healing. Her films includes Sex with Sue, which won the 2023 Canadian Screen Award for Best Documentary Program, as well as One Leg In, One Leg Out and Take a Walk on the Wildside. She also directed What Can a Song Do? For Netflix’s series This is Pop! Her films have won multiple awards and screened at various festivals including Hot Docs, Big Sky, Raindance, Doc Edge, RIIFF and the Austin Film Festival. Her upcoming documentary Degrassi: Whatever It Takes will premiere at TIFF's 50th anniversary festival. When Lisa isn’t making films she is with her two young children, hiking with her dog Henry or watching TV.
