Marisa Guterman
Director/writer/producer Marisa Guterman’s debut feature, LOST & FOUND IN CLEVELAND, premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival and sold-out screenings continued at the Nantucket Film Festival. Marisa won the Indie Vision Award for Best Ensemble Cast and a Best Narrative Feature nomination at the Twin Cities Film Fest. At CIFF, the film shattered attendance records with 2,700 viewers, receiving a Local Heroes nomination. The film had its nationwide theatrical release in November 2025.
When casting directors said she couldn’t attract her desired cast, she cast the film herself with Oscar, Emmy, and Tony winners. Despite funding setbacks over ten years, she financed her independent film and worked with first-time distributors to release it in over 350 U.S. theaters. As Co-Founder of Double G Films, she creates original content and is in development with several production companies.
Known for her memorable role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, she earned a Young Artist Award nomination for her lead performance in Nickelodeon’s Shredderman Rules, and has appeared on Criminal Minds, The Mentalist, Frasier, 2 Broke Girls, and Leverage.
Marisa received a theatre scholarship from the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts and attended UC Berkeley, earning a B.A. with a self-designed major: Art’s Potential for Social and Political Change.
During her years at Sony BMG and Sony Music in San Francisco and Los Angeles, she worked in artist development and marketing, helping launch artists Adele and Sara Bareilles, and earned a Gold Record for her work with MGMT. After leaving Sony, the former Gibson-Baldwin Grammy Jazz Finalist built her career as a singer-songwriter.
Named one of Splashlife.com’s “30 Under 30 Musicians to Know,” she performed her original music across Los Angeles at The House of Blues, The Viper Room, and Hotel Café, as well as at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City.
