Noura Kevorkian

Noura Kevorkian is a Peabody Award–winning Lebanese-Canadian filmmaker whose work is recognized for its poetic visual style, intimate storytelling, and deep humanism. With a career spanning over two decades, she has established herself as a powerful voice in international documentary and hybrid cinema.


Her films — including the acclaimed Veils UncoveredAnjar: Flowers, Goats & Heroes23 Kilometres, and the Peabody-winning Batata — have screened at major festivals such as IDFA, Karlovy Vary, Hot Docs, Dubai, Munich, Carthage, Durban, and Rome. Critics have praised her work as “extraordinary” (Marc Glassman, POV Magazine) and “beautiful and really powerful” (CBC).


Beyond her filmmaking, Noura brings extensive experience as a story editor and film editor. She is a dedicated mentor to emerging filmmakers, supporting new voices across Canada and internationally. She is also a committed advocate for the documentary community as a Board Member of the Documentary Organization of Canada, championing the advancement and protection of the documentary sector.


Noura is currently developing her debut narrative feature Syrian Dancer and adapting The Taste of Longing, based on the award-winning non-fiction account of an overlooked neurodivergent Canadian WWII heroine.
