Patricia Chica
Patricia Chica is an award-winning Canadian director, producer, writer with over 60 hours of content to her name. After graduating Cum Laude from the film production department of Concordia University, she co-founded her production company Flirt Films to bring to the international market stories from diverse and queer creators. Specializing in character-driven films that feature strong emotions and elevated stories, Chica's work has been in Official Selection at over 300 international film festivals and retrospectives, earning her 60+ awards. Her captivating blend of dreamy surrealism and introspective self-reflection creates a distinctive visual narrative that is fueled by higher consciousness. She is also a seasoned acting coach who uses mindful techniques, chi energy awareness and intuition to get the best performances out of her cast. Chica's debut feature film, MONTRÉAL GIRLS, starring discovery actors that she coached for a year, funded by Telefilm Canada and Sodec, released theatrically in 2023, and received raved reviews and 5 awards including the BEST CANADIAN DEBUT FEATURE at the Female Eye Film Festival. Patricia Chica is now preparing her next dramatic feature called BOUGAINVILLEA, inspired by her oddly twisted upbringing. Chica is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada, the Canadian Academy, the CMPA and Film Fatales to name a few. She divides her time between Montreal and Los Angeles.
