Princess A Hairston
Princess A. Hairston is a director and Emmy-nominated editor based in New York City. Her feature directorial debut, BREAKING THE NEWS. premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and aired nationwide on PBS. She also helped shape the rhythm of LADIES FIRST: A Story of Women in Hip Hop on Netflix, both as editor and producer. In the edit room, Princess cut the Emmy winning film SONGS FROM THE HOLE on Netflix, THIS WORLD IS NOT MY OWN, which premiered at SXSW 2023, Amazon’s doc series LULARICH, CNN Films' FRESH DRESSED which premiered at Sundance in 2015, and the Emmy-nominated Capture with Mark Seliger. In 2020, she produced a digital campaign for “Get Out The Vote” for Black Lives Matter. Princess was selected as one of 25 filmmaker nominees for the 2020 Lynn Shelton Of A Certain Age grant. She is a recipient of the Karen Schmeer Editing Fellowship and a Winner of the NYTVF + WEtv Producer Pitch which led to a development deal. Her work has been recognized with nominations and awards from the Emmys, The Webbys, and many film festivals.
