Synopsis
A CASTLE IN BROOKLYN, KING ARTHUR, narrated by Golden Globe Award winner, Brian Cox, is an observation on the clash of creativity, capitalism, obsession, free thought, and community in postmodern America. In the 1970's, visionary artist, Arthur Wood, and his wife Cynthia buy a derelict building on auction in the Clinton Hill/BedStuy section of Brooklyn, N.Y. and over the years, create a 108 foot building called the Broken Angel. The objet trouvé building becomes a celebrated Brooklyn sculpture/landmark. Twenty six years later they are threatened with preemptive forced eviction and engage in a Kafkaesque, David and Goliath battle against city agencies and unexpected adversaries. With the participation of a diverse community and renowned experts, director Tyler A. Chase tears the scab off of the global pathos and ignorance that exists about the right to adequate housing and the enormous damage that is done economically, psychologically, culturally to a community, to a nation to an international community when these kind of violations take place.
