Synopsis
Gloria, a former nun, breaks 30 years of silence to name her abuser, Marko Rupnik, a celebrated priest and artist close to the Vatican’s highest powers. When the Vatican ignores her letter, Gloria refuses to back down. She reconnects with fellow nun Mirjam, and together they bring their story to the press, exposing the shocking scale of Rupnik’s abuse and the Church’s decades-long cover-up, drawing international media attention.
Gloria’s revelations resonate across the Atlantic. In the U.S., clergy abuse survivor and activist Barbara Dorris is moved to investigate further, uncovering a hidden pattern of forced abortions imposed on nuns and laywomen by priests—another dark chapter in the Church’s abuse of women.
Gloria is no longer alone. An army of women determined to break the cloak of silence joins her fight. Nearly 30 more former nuns come forward, prompting Pope Francis to consider overturning the statute of limitations and launching a Vatican trial to hold Rupnik accountable. Her journey sparks a global reckoning, exposing deep corruption and inspiring others to speak out.
