Synopsis

As a Category 4 hurricane barrels toward Florida, an estranged couple is forced into a desperate fight for survival deep in the Everglades. Dr. Isabel “Izzy” Rivera, a sharp ER surgeon fresh off a forced leave of absence, reluctantly accepts a ride from her ex-husband Michael, a former Marine still clinging to old anger and unresolved grief. Their plan is to beat the storm and reach her mother’s house with their daughters, but a detour down the isolated stretch of highway known as Alligator Alley sets off a violent and terrifying chain of events.

After a tense stop at a rundown gas station, their truck is sabotaged. With no cell service and the storm gaining strength, they seek shelter in an abandoned state hospital swallowed by swamp. The building is rotting, graffiti-stained, and infested with snakes. The storm begins to flood the lower halls, and Michael and Izzy are forced to navigate their past while fighting off the elements. Their long-buried tension comes to a boil inside the decaying walls, but what waits in the dark is far more dangerous than their broken marriage.

The gas station was not random. It is a front for a backwoods organ-harvesting ring run by a twisted woman in a paramedic uniform, her feral brothers, and a monster of a man who performs surgeries inside the asylum. When the group descends on the hospital, Michael and Izzy must rely on their military instincts to turn the asylum into a fortress. They set traps, weaponize surgical tools, and battle predators both human and reptile. Alligators lurk beneath the stormwater. Pythons strike from the rafters. But nothing is more lethal than the people hunting them.

What begins as a story about escape becomes one of resurrection. Izzy must reclaim her strength, her faith, and her fire to survive. Drenched in blood and grit, she rises with the storm and delivers justice in surgical fashion. In the morning light, she drives through the broken asylum gates with Michael beside her, their bond scarred but reforged. They did not outrun the storm. They went through it and lived.
