Sarah Pirozek is an award-winning Director | Writer | Producer, originally from London, based in NYC.
Pirozek's feature, #LIKE won accolades for "Best Script”, “Best Director”, "Best Producer" and “Best Actor” at multiple film festivals, and is streaming internationally. Pirozek's original scripts features, THE SQUATTERS HANDBOOK and FINCA are in development. As are her documentaries; THE COFFEE AND CREAM CLUB, and CHESTER HIMES ~ MY LIFE OF ABSURDITY.
As the executor the of the 'Chester Himes Literary Estate' Pirozek has overseen the reissue of all of Himes's work and is currently co-producing a series based on his legendary "Harlem Detectives" Cycle, and as writer/director is developing a feature based on his novel RUN MAN RUN.
Her shorts, including CONFESSIONS OF A GIRL WHO NEVER RECEIVED A VISITATION FROM THE SACRED HEART screened at The London International Film Festival, as well as, BEFORE AND AFTER FRENCH KISSING.
She has directed music-videos, working with; Bjork, De La Soul, Amiee Mann, Tribe Called Quest, The UMC's, Queen Latifah, Shaquille O'Neal, among many others, and over 100 commercials, also directing, producing, and co-creating programming for The Sundance Channel, MTV, VH1, PBS, HBO, NAT GEO, AMC, BBC, and Channel Four TV in London, and the Discovery Channel.
Her other projects include feature FREE TIBET, starring THE SMASHING PUMPKINS, THE BEASTIE BOYS, FOO FIGHTERS, DE LA SOUL and more, winning the "Best of Fest” award at The Edinburgh International Film Festival, and producing indie feature FLORA, premiering at LA's “Outfest", winning Showtime's "New Talent Award", distrib. by Regent Entertainment.
