Synopsis
Lauren Lindsay had it all: underling friends, an inflated sense of self worth, and, somehow every day, an incredible blowout. One night after a party, Lauren’s perfect life is cut short making an illegal U-turn to satisfy her drunken fast food cravings. She finds herself in Purgatory, where she is told she must go back and right the wrongs of her past or be cursed to walk the Earth unseen.
Due to budget cuts in Purgatory, she’s given just one mission: Megan Klein, her ex-childhood BFF and target of her high school bullying. Lauren crashes back to Earth as a ghost, knowing little else but that she must find Megan. At the mercy of the friend she ghosted, she will have to right the wrongs of her past if she has any chance of Ascending. And she only has two weeks to do it.
When Lauren finds Megan, she’s surprised at how much of a grudge Megan still holds against her. But they have to put their bickering aside for Lauren to cross over. Eventually, they start to remember why they used to be friends. And even fall in love.
With time running out, Lauren and Megan discover the key to Lauren’s Ascension. But now that their relationship has changed, will Megan be willing to help Lauren if it means saying goodbye to her forever? Spoiler alert: Megan forgives Lauren for how she treated her while Lauren was alive. She crosses over right at the buzzer of the imposed two-week deadline. The two of them learn that loving someone means being selfless and, sometimes, letting go.
