Carmen Sangion, has been working consistently as a writer/director in Johannesburg South Africa for over 22 years. She has written on numerous television shows and written and directed a number of award winning short films as well as made for television films.

In 2014 she was selected to participate in the IFP’s No Borders International Co-Production Market in New York, for her multi-narrative feature film project Salvation, and was also selected to be part of the 2016 International Film Festival Rotterdam Lab for emerging producers for the same film.

In 2017 she co-produced Salvation, her feature film writing and directorial debut, with her sister Kim Sangion under their company SangSang Entertainment. Salvation was selected to be part of the “Works in Progress” program at the Cape Town International Film Festival in 2018 and then went on to have it’s World Premier In Competition at the 2019 Silicon Valley African Film Festival in California and was released in South African cinemas in October the same year. Salvation was also officially selected to screen at the LA Femme Film Festival 2019, Johannesburg International Film Festival 2019, Africa Rising International Film Festival 2019 and Rapid Lion International Film Festival 2020, officially selected for Stellenbosch Triennale 2020, In Competition at Urban World Film Festival 2020, officially selected Moscow International Film Festival 2020 and In Competition at BRICS Film Festival 2020.
