Donna Wheeler is a U.S.-based Latinx writer-director. Current projects include attachments to direct 2 independent, women-centric/diversity feature films, a Latinx limited series, and romantic comedy pilot; and developing 2 additional features - a Nicholl Finalist women-centric script and Slamdance Finalist LGBTQ script. She's known for directing scripted series for Walt Disney Studios; field segments for OWN/the Oprah Winfrey Network; the feature comedy Death of a Saleswoman; and show-runner, staff writer and guest director on Couplets limited series for All Def Digital. Wheeler co-produced multi-award feature Better Half, and edited short film The Customer, nominated for a Student Academy Award. She's a Slamdance Screenwriting Fellow, a Film Independent Lab finalist, Academy Nicholl Fellowship semi-finalist, Sundance Filmmaker Lab(s) finalist, Best Screenplay and Audience Awards (writing/directing) at Female Eye Film Fest, Bare Bones Film Festival, Beverly Hills Film Festival, LA Femme Film Festival and Austin Film Festival. She heads a production company focused on POC, gender parity, diversity, LGBTQ and women-centric content. She is also fiscally-sponsored Artist, working on media/art projects that amplify women's and diverse voices globally. She directs Theatre and additionally worked in production and post production at PBS, History Channel, A&E Networks, Disney/Polygram, The Travel Channel, ABC, CBS, Paramount Studios and several Fortune 500 global clients.
