Hanka Nobis was born in Białystok. In 2009 she began her work both in a film and theatre, where she acted, created video installations and costumes. In 2016 she started her project in Wajda Master School. Nobis’ first feature length documentary POLISH PRAYERS (2022) premiered at IDFA as a Swiss Polish co-production between First Hand Films and Offhand with HBO Max and ARTE
