Jennifer Steinman is the Chapter Leader of the San Francisco Film Fatales, and an award-winning Director, Producer and Editor. She is currently developing a feature documentary on the legendary Latina percussionist SHEILA E., and producing TIME FOR ILHAN, a feature that chronicles the dramatic political campaign of Ilhan Omar, the nation's first Somali Muslim woman elected to office.

Jennifer's most recent feature film, DESERT RUNNERS, screened to sold-out audiences at IDFA and was named by the Huffington Post as one of "The Top 10 Documentaries of 2013."  It was selected "Best of the Fest" at Edinburgh International Film Festival, won Audience Awards at both Vancouver International and The Hamptons International Film Festivals, and was released worldwide in over 20 countries. Jennifer's feature directorial debut, MOTHERLAND, had its world premiere and won an Audience Award at SXSW in 2009. The film went on to win several other best-of-festival awards and was voted by fans to return to SXSW in 2012 for a “Best of the Festival” Encore Screening. 

As an editor, Jennifer’s films have been accepted into many major film festivals including Tribeca, Rotterdam, and Sundance. She has won several awards and has been nominated for an Emmy® Award for Outstanding Achievement in Editing.
