Kelly Walker is an Australian multi-hyphenate award-winning filmmaker. She has had multiple short films find success in Oscar Qualifying film festivals, and in 2018 won the Jury Award for Best Short at Bentonville Film Festival. Next up, Walker was selected for Australian's In Film Writers Lab, which led to her first feature as a writer and director, My Fiona. My Fiona had its World Premier at London's prestigious BFI LGBTIQ+ Festival and has gone to have an award-winning festival run. In turn, it secured distribution, was theatrically released, and is currently available on demand. Walker was selected to talk at BFI Flare’s Lesbians In Cinema Panel, a juror member for Queer Screen and Charlotte Film Festival, and has been a speaker on numerous talkbacks advocating for female filmmakers and diversity behind the lens. Currently, Walker is attached to direct the feature Liza Anonymous, cowritten with Leah McKendrick based on McKendrick’s Tribeca short film, and Walker’s most recent script, The Upside of Falling Down, based on the book by Rebekah Crane, is in pre-production with Embankment Films.
