Loretta Sarah Todd is a visionary leader in Indigenous media, a true artist with entrepreneurial energy and cultural knowledge. She's directed over 100 projects including award-winning documentaries, apps, digital media, games and animation. She created Coyote's Crazy Smart Science Show, a children's series about Indigenous science, in its 3rd season. Monkey Beach, her first feature, launched in 2020 to strong audience and critical response and was the #1 Canadian film at the box office for 4 weeks. Based on the novel by Eden Robinson, Monkey Beach opened the Vancouver International Film Festival, screened at TIFF, ImagineNative, Americas Film Festival, Red Nations Film Festival, Cascadia International Women's Film Festival, as well many other festivals and winning numerous awards, sweeping all the drama awards at the American Indian Film Festival, including Best Film and Best Director.

Ms. Todd also creates space for Indigenous production and storytelling, including the IM4 Media Lab, an Indigenous XR Lab, where she's the Creative Director. IM4 Lab is soon launching the first Indigenous Virtual Production Studio.

Her work screens at festivals like Sundance, TIFF, Yamagata, Hot Docs, ImagineNative and at galleries, including MOMA. Her many honours include a Rockefeller Fellowship to NYU, Sundance Scriptwriter’s Lab, Mayor's Award for Media Arts (Vancouver), Women in Film and Video Innovator Award and Women of Excellence: United Nation's Women's Economic Forum.
