Mel Barrett began her career in New York City writing coverage for independent film production companies before becoming a reality television and commercial producer, a screenwriter, director, and video editor in Los Angeles.

She is most well known for her LOGO web series, FEED and her NYIIFF award winning script, HEROINE.

Barrett is now located on the east coast and is a screenwriter, director, consultant, and author.
