Melisa, is a Turkish/Italian artist born and living in Turkey. After studying International Relations at Tufts University, she continued her studies with a Masters in Film Studies at Istanbul Bilgi University.

A filmmaker and a photographer, her work has been exhibited in many international exhibitions. She collaborates in theater, making video installations. She has been writing and directing shorts, fiction films and documentaries since 2007, including Me and Nuri Bala which received Best First Documentary at Antalya Film Festival (2009), her first feature Seaburners that premiered in Berlinale Forum (2014), an experimental short, dance film featured in an omnibus collection; Coastliners (International Istanbul Film Festival 2016) and recently “Suddenly” her second feature which premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival (2022) and International Rotterdam Film Festival (2023).
