Nicola Fan is a Hong Kong based graphic designer and award-winning filmmaker. She is a Director for commercials, documentaries, narrative films, motion-graphics; as well as Creative & Art Director for marketing and advertising campaign design.

Selected by Werner Herzog, she was 1 of 50 international filmmakers to participate in his 2021 Film Accelerator Lab at Lanzarote, Canary Islands. The short documentary she created during the lab, The Island Lives, was selected for 2022 Cannes Court Métrage.

Her short narrative film Daffodil, is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video (US) and Indieflix. Her first feature documentary She Objects, was official selection at 2016 Sundance Film Festival Hong Kong.

Her work has been featured on press including South China Morning Post, Asia Tatler, TimeOut (HK), TVB. She has been a guest speaker on RTHK, TedX Lingnan University, Sundance Film Festival (HK), SCMP: Women of Our Time, and more.

She graduated from Rhode Island School of Design, with a BFA in Graphic Design.
