I'm an Irish-Australian who returned to Ireland from the diaspora in the early nineties. Spending time on the Aran Islands and in Conamara learning the Irish language brought about a cultural and an environmental awakening which were completely entwined, subsequently feeding my work. Tá neart oibre déanta agam trí mheán na Gaeilge, agus feicfidh tú blaisín de sin ar an suíomh seo.

My work is informed by an interest in social justice, the environment, language and culture. I love working in the margins creating hybrid forms. Exploring ways of translating poetry into the medium of film and VR is a particular obsession. I identify as a writer/director… but when I produce my own work too it’s as Saoi Media.

I’m working on some fascinating and challenging projects, and I also teach, mentor and consult.
