Sue Carpenter is a journalist, photographer and independent documentary filmmaker, and director of Tideturner Films. She has made several short films, and is director of the award-winning feature documentary I Am Belmaya, about a subjugated young Dalit woman in Nepal who takes up the camera to change her story. Sue has been involved in Nepal and women's rights for 20 years. She is also a founder trustee of GlobalGirl Media UK (GGM UK), empowering young women through digital media training to tell stories from their own perspective.
