Minhal Baig graduated from Yale University in 2012 with a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts. In 2013, she was chosen as a fellow for the first annual week-long screenwriting residency in Las Vegas, hosted by The Black List. In 2015, she wrote & directed, One Night, her directorial debut about two couples reconnecting over the course of one night at a hotel. The film stars Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Justin Chatwin (Shameless), Isabelle Fuhrman (Hunger Games) and Kyle Allen (The Path). One Night premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2016 and in theaters in the first quarter of 2017. She also wrote & directed the short film, Hala, about a Muslim teenager who struggles to reconcile her personal desires with family expectations. The short was featured on Nylon, Short of the Week, Film Shortage and chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick. She is currently working on the feature-length version of Hala and a psychological horror short film, After Sophie. Her comic SUNSET CLEANERS was published in WOLF #9 (Image Comics). She is writing her next creator-owned comic, AMERICAN VIOLENCE, with art by Richard Lyons, to be released in 2017.
