A Peabody winning director, producer, Senain is a director of feature documentaries such as the Emmy-nominated, The Diplomat (ESPN) and Project Kashmir (Independent Lens). She has also written and directed several short films as well as produced projects with acclaimed directors Davis Guggenheim, James Longley and Morgan Spurlock. She recently directed a series of virtual reality films in collaboration with Facebook and Johnson & Johnson. Her films have premiered at IDFA, Tribeca, Human Rights Watch Film Festival as well as screened at festivals around the world. Project Kashmir was selected as part of the US State Department’s prestigious ‘American Documentary Showcase.’ Production and distribution partners for her films include PBS/Independent Lens, Ch. 4 (UK), CNN, Cinelan, Focus Forward & A&E. Senain has received a Rockefeller/Media Arts Fellowship, three Sundance Fellowships, and two Tribeca All Access Fellowships. Her films have received funding from Sundance, Cinereach, Fledgling Fund, ITVS, Catapult, CAAM and Tribeca All Access. Senain has served on panels and juries at Sundance, Hot Docs, Sheffield Doc/Fest, ITVS, CAAM, Film Independent, Docuweeks, and the IDA Awards. Currently, Senain is directing a feature documentary in Pakistan, creating and directing a series for a PBS Digital Studios and writing a screenplay about her Pakistani family. Senain very proudly serves on the Board of Directors of the International Documentary Association.
