Giulia Frati

Giulia Frati is a filmmaker born in Italy and currently living in Canada. She started her career working on an array of films as a director of photography. Her directorial debut documentary, 'Pupa's Garden' was broadcast on PBS, France3Corse and it played in several festivals, winning the Jury Prize at the Environmental Festival in Portneuf, Canada. Over the past 20 years, she has also contributed to several projects as assistant director, production manager and producer with a strong interest in building creative bridges and coproductions. Giulia has recently completed "Istanbul Echoes" a documentary feature film about street vendors in Istanbul. She is the co-founder and co-director of the Cuban Hat Project which has allowed her to participate in many international documentary markets and give several pitch training workshops. She also manages the Docunexion QC-FR initiative by Makila Coop and occupies the President position on it's board.
