Sophie Mathisen is a writer/director and producer and the Festival Director of For Film's Sake Festival, Australia's longest running female film festival. Her first feature, Drama, shot in Paris screened at eight international festivals ahead of a theatrical release in Australia in 2016. Sophie is a leading gender equity advocate, the former President of WIFT and responsible for the 2016 'AACTA Sausage Party' stunt that removed problematic entry criteria for female filmmakers at the Australian national awards. In 2017 she was named one of Westpac's '200 Women who will change the world' and and Churchill Fellow whereby she will conduct a global investigation into effective gender advocacy programs in the screen industries.
